CENSUS RECORDS

This dataset is complete but has not yet been loaded

The generally available census records on various websites are poorly transcribed with many obvious errors. The transcriptions are also inconsistent, with different data transcribed for different years.

As these are a potentially very useful source of information, ther records for all seventeen parishes have been re-transcribed from the original sources, from which a searchable database has been built.

The census data will be used to build a simple overview of population statistics, migration patterns and occupations in the period from 1841 - 1871.  It is proposd also to use data mining and analysis to identify individuals who appear in more than one decennial census and tag them as being the same person.  It may also be possible to tie these to poor law records.
