Charged upon the oath of Jane Hayward, of Botterells Aston, wife to the said John Hayward, with most cruelly and inhumanly beating her the said Jane Hayward, on Sunday the 30th day of June last, at the said parish of Botterells Aston: and did also on Tuesday last violently assault and beat her the said Jane Hayward, at the said parish of Botterells Aston, after he had been served with a warrant for the first offence. And the said John Hayward stands farther charged on James King, Petty Constable of Bold and Charclot, with having assaulted him in the execution of his office, after he arrested him under a warrant for beating his said wife, having produced no sureties for being of good behaviour towards his said wife, or for his appearance at the next assizes to be holden at Shrewsbury, in and for the said county, and to answer bills of indictment for the said offences: committed the eighth day of July, until the next assizes to be holden at Shrewsbury in and for the said county, or until he shall find bail, or shall be discharged by due course of law, by Thomas Mytton Esq
